New App in the HubSpot Marketplace: Blog Importer

hsblogimport exportWe're really excited about this newest app that's now live in the HubSpot App Marketplace: Blog Importer from TJ O'Connor. This app allows you to import blog posts into your HubSpot portal from any Wordpress, Blogger or any RSS/ATOM feed. Basically, if you can export your blog from your current blogging platform in XML format, then you can use this app to import your blog into HubSpot and take advantage of the HubSpot blog platform.

Click here to see complete step-by-step instructions on how to use this application.

To use the app, just install it from the App Marketplace (under Community -> App Marketplace), then searching for "Blog Import" and hitting the "Install" button. Run the app by clicking on the app's link in your Community menu. It should take about 5 minutes to setup the import, and then your posts will be imported in real-time (5 - 10 seconds per post). You'll see the posts that are being updated as the app does its work. After importing, you will need to review each post and update any relative links and image references to make sure that your posts look the way they should look.

After your import has completed (this part is awesome, BTW) the app will give you an output of all of your 301 re-directs that you can then take and put into HubSpot (under Settings -> URL Mappings). This will ensure that your SEO credit from your blog will retain itself through your blog migration process.

For more info, please see the app's help page here: https://app.omega-labs.co/blogimport/help.aspx

Does this work for HubSpot small or only medium/large. If small, is there a good workaround? I have a blog I need to import.

One other thing you could try: do you see an RSS link on your blog page? If so, click that, then copy the URL in the address bar and try pasting that on LinkedIn.

No, it doesn't work with the hubspot info. I am looking into how to do this. Thanks for all your help.

Janet,
I'm not sure how Hubspot sets their blog feeds, but just go to your blog page and copy the info in your address bar, which is your feed URL, and that should do it. If not, contact hubspot directly and ask them to send you the RSS feed link.

John,
Thanks! Everything seems easy, BUT, now I feel stupid asking what would my Wordpress address be? Hubspot hosts our blog so....?

Janet, I'm not sure if Dale replied, but if not do the following:
1) On your profile page, click on the "More" link, then choose "get more applications" from the drop-down menu.
2) Click the "Wordpress" app from the list on the page.
3) On the next page, click on 'Add application" on the bottom right.
4) Type in your Wordpress address where prompted, then click "save".
Your blog should load into your profile page, and all new posts from there on will show up in your activity stream.

Good luck!

Dale,
I'd love instructions, could you post or how do you want me to get in touch with you?

I love this idea. Sounds like a great tool. I am not sure I understand the issue people are having with Linkedin. Are you not using the blog app within linkedin to have your blog articles post in linkedin? If not it is easy to set up by adding the app and connecting it to your blog. If you need help, get in touch.

Agree with the comment above--need to be able to export blogs to my LinkedIn profile, just like WordPress.

Nice job TJ!

Sounds like a cool app. But wouldn't it be easier to just write the blog post directly in hubspot? Why would you want to use blogger if you have hubspot?

Thanks

Nice, now is there a way to export your blogs and post them on Linked in and Facebook?
