Content Strategy Webinar Homework [Week 1]

content strategyThank you so much for joining Julie, Patrick and I today.  We hope you learned how to create personas so you can better understand your leads and customers, which will help you create the right types of content.  Developing personas is a very important marketing strategy that every marketer should utilize to get into the mindset of your visitors, leads, and customers.

Please complete the following homework before next Friday’s webinar on developing your first piece of content:

  1. Create your personas using the Persona Development Worksheet
  2. Start brainstorming what content would appeal to each persona
  3. Watch the webinar

Next week we will teach you how to create content for each persona you have identified.  We will walk you through what types of content you can create and how to align the content to each persona. This is a critical step to creating an effective content strategy; the more targeted the content, the more qualified leads you will generate, and the more likely your leads will convert to customers.

Make sure you sign up for our next Day Camp webinar series on Emailing Marketing, which starts October 5th at 4pm ET.

Have a great weekend!

I just downloaded the template - I don't recall you talking about the "format filter" on page 2. Can you explain?

@Bala: It's basically their primary problems or needs. You can ask for this informaiton on landing pages forms, doing a survey of your leads or customers, or working with sales to understand what common problems prospects are faced with.

How would you answer the first question in the worksheet - "what is s/he trying to solve for"? Is it by examining where they first came to our site from?

In case of organic searches, i am collecting the keywords the leads entered into search, to get a better idea of their "need".
In case of referrals, i am looking at the link itself and which article this link is sitting in the source site

Any other ideas/comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
