HubSpot Dashboard Redesign Coming Soon

We’re making a few changes to the HubSpot Dashboard soon, and we wanted to give you a sneak peek at what’s on tap. It's almost been a year since we first launched the new HubSpot Dashboard, so it's due for a bit of a design refresh. This new design is currently in beta testing with about 150 of our awesome customers, and once we’ve put the finishing touches on things, we’ll be rolling it out to all customers in the coming weeks.

Design Consistency With New Content, Contacts, and Reports Apps

We've been busy rolling out new applications across the product in the past year, so it only makes sense that we’d give the Dashboard a bit of an update to bring it in line with our new design standards. The various module titles, graphs, and table structures should look familiar, as they will now be consistent with the style that our new applications use. This not only makes the product look nicer, but also helps us develop a better product faster since we can use common elements across the product.

Prioritization Of The Most Used Modules

The most used module by far on the HubSpot Dashboard is the Traffic and Leads module. In contrast, the Recent Activity section gets relatively little activity, yet it’s been living right at the top of the Dashboard. After watching these trends and getting feedback from customers, we are retiring the existing Recent Activity module and pulling the Traffic and Leads module to the top where it belongs. We are working on a replacement to the Recent Activity module that should be available in the near future.

App Listing Quick Links

A key new feature of the new HubSpot Dashboard design is the full app listing along the right column. This will provide a clear path to specific applications directly from your Dashboard.

As always, please let us know what you think in the comments. We will continue to iterate on the Dashboard to make it even more useful and look very closely at your feedback to make these decisions.

Looks great. Less cluttered. More functional. Can't wait to take the new dashboard for a spin.

Thanks for the upcoming update, I use the dashboard every day and these changes will be welcomed by many, including me.

More changes? Way to keep up the improvements.

I'm using the new Dashboard, so I guess I'm "awesome". The new version is definitely better than before, but the two modules or pages I visit the most - by FAR - are Page Manager and File Manager. Unfortunately, neither of these links were made prominent in the new iteration, and File Manager is still buried under Settings (which is bizarre, if you ask me...). On the plus side, Hubspot still has the best Tech Support team I've ever dealt with, so there's always that. Keep up the good-ish work!

Thank you very much for the update. I will let our team know that the Dashboard is going to be changing soon -- I very much appreciate the heads-up!

In response to Matt's comment, I respectfully disagree. Within my organization, I'm the only one using the CMS but we have other users with access to HubSpot. I'd rather keep them away from my File Manager, thank you very much!

Good point, Naomi! But it sounds like we have different situations; I'm the only one using Hubspot at my company, so I don't have the same concerns as you. I can see how you'd prefer to retain control. Cheers.

Super excited about the App Quick Links!

Hi All! Thanks for the great feedback.

@Naomi and @Matt, we'll be moving Page Manager into the list shortly. File Manager is used less frequently than the other apps, but we are looking at making it more prominent from within the Content apps where it is most often needed.

Form manager should be available on it too.
The concerns about who has access to what apps should be addressed by allow us to assign different users different roles. Having only two types of user roles, Admin's and blogger's is way to few. how about allowing the admin to decide which user gets to use which application?

@Brian - that's good to hear. Thanks for listening.

I'm liking it! Especially the easy to find list on the side.

Please add the option to include social media metrics - such as clicks on twitter links.

Great new look for the dash!

But where did you move Blog Analytics? I am sure it is the 2nd most frequented page after Sources and it should be under the Reports.

BTW - it will help a lot if the top row menus have a drop down.

Again, where are the Blog Analytics located at now?
Posted @ Thursday, July 12, 2012 9:06 AM by Wayne Rutherford
Hi All. The link to Blog Analytics is now part of the new Content Home page. If you click on Content in the top level nav, it's a link on the right column near the bottom.

Sorry - but where can I see what web pages are receiving the most traffic? you have the landing pages analyzed on the dashboard, but I need to know if what I am doing is driving prospects to certain web pages. thanks.

Love the new style. The menu on the right makes it so easy to access the applications.

Great work!
