There's an old business adage that says "You can't manage what you can't measure." In other words, it's impossible to know what's working and what's not. If there are no defined metrics to judge success while the big catch-all approach to marketing used to work for some businesses, it doesn't anymore. As consumers demand more personalized experiences, there's even more of a push for data-driven decision making in business.

According to a 2013 study by Yon Rain. Now Akamai, 74% of online consumers admitted they get frustrated with websites. When content appears, that has nothing to do with their interests, and that was nearly a decade ago. To compete in this new marketplace, businesses need to focus on generating, analyzing, and applying data. That's where business analytics comes in. Business analytics refers to the skills, technologies, and practices for continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance to gain insight and drive business planning. But I'll let you in on a little secret. To get good at Business Analytics, you need to get data literate, and that's where this course comes in.
