Hi there, I'm Crystal with HubSpot Academy. Welcome to the Facebook Marketing Strategy course.
Facebook is the world's largest social platform, with 2.8 billion users, and the majority spending an average of 38 minutes on Facebook every day. It's also the most commonly used social media platform among marketers worldwide. Facebook is owned by Meta, a company that also offers Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Oculus, Portal, Workplace, and Novi wallet technology.
With users spending time on Facebook, there's no doubt businesses need to have a presence on the platform. According to a Statista global survey, 93 percent of responding social media marketers use the network to promote their business.
Facebook is a very different place compared to when it first entered the marketing scene. Today, the world's largest social network can do things many of us would never have dreamed of 10 years ago, like host 360-degree videos, audio chats, and even sell products using a chatbot.
With ongoing changes to privacy laws that affect marketers, and because so many businesses use the platform to market their products and services, it's important to optimize your content to ensure it stands out from the competition.
